Dishwasher Broken? Get Repair Service Today!

Please reach us at appliancerepairofphoenix@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Dishes coming out dirty or wet from the dishwasher often means a clogged spray arm, a dirty filter, or improper loading that blocks water circulation. Wet dishes may also result from using the wrong detergent, not using rinse aid, or a faulty heating element that prevents proper drying. Cleaning the filter and spray arms and confirming correct detergent use can often fix the issue, but persistent problems may require professional service.

Water pooling at the bottom of the dishwasher is usually caused by a clogged filter, blocked drain hose, or a failing drain pump that prevents proper drainage. If you notice water in bottom of dishwasher, water sitting in bottom of dishwasher, or water in dishwasher filter, food debris and grease buildup are often restricting water flow. Cleaning the filter and checking for visible blockages can resolve many cases, but persistent standing water may require professional repair.

Dishwasher leaking water when not in use is often caused by a faulty water inlet valve that slowly allows water to enter the tub, or a loose connection in the supply line. If you notice a dishwasher water inlet valve leaking, worn internal seals may be allowing water to drip into the unit even when it’s off. Prompt inspection and repair can prevent water damage to your floors and cabinets.

If your dishwasher smells bad, it’s often caused by trapped food debris, grease buildup, or standing water in the filter or drain line. A dishwasher smells like eggs or fish when bacteria builds up inside the tub, filter, or garbage disposal connection, while a dishwasher smells like burning may indicate a wiring issue, overheating motor, or melting plastic inside the unit. Cleaning the filter and running a cleaning cycle can fix odor issues, but burning smells should be inspected by a professional immediately.

If your dishwasher won’t start, the issue could be a faulty door latch, tripped breaker, blown thermal fuse, or a control board malfunction. Whether you have a GE dishwasher not starting, a Whirlpool dishwasher not turning on, or need KitchenAid dishwasher troubleshooting, power supply problems and door switch failures are common causes. If resetting the breaker and checking the latch doesn’t fix why your dishwasher is not turning on, professional diagnosis may be needed.
