If your freezer is cold but not making ice, check for a clogged water filter, a frozen water supply line, or a closed water shutoff valve. It is best to call for service if the unit is turned on and hasn't made ice in 24-48 hours.
When cubes are small or hollow, this typically means the ice maker isn't getting enough water during the fill cycle. If the water dispenser is slow, this is probably a water filter/pressure issue. If the dispenser or works fine but the cubes are still small, the ice maker's inlet valve or control module could be the issue.
Loud clicking or grinding sounds from an ice maker usually indicate a mechanical problem. This can be caused by a jammed ice tray, broken gears, or a failing motor. These noises often mean the ice maker is struggling to cycle or eject ice properly.
Water leaks from an ice maker when the water line or filter is clogged, loose, or damaged. A stuck or misaligned ice maker arm can also cause overflow, and a warm freezer may let ice melt before ejection. Faulty water inlet valves or cracked ice trays are common culprits as well. Turn off the ice maker and water supply, check these parts, and replace any damaged components to stop the leak.
